New Emerging Security Threats

Previously foreign students are schooled in their own respective international schools. Now, most local schools do admit foreign students. These students come from varifying cultures and may find it difficult to integrate into our culture and society.

Are there programmes for them to integrate ? Are there contingency plans in place to identify violent traits in such students who having been unable to integrate feels discriminated, bullied makes a hasty and impulsive decision to hurt themselves and others.

In Singapore, we already had such incidents reported namely NTU and NUS where lives were needlessly lost.

In America, when killings takes place in educational institutions; often the culprit is a foreign student like in Virginia Tech.

Let us work together and pre-empt such emerging risks and threats to our society especially when we have a proactive emigration policy.
